I am experienced in multi-disciplinary medical transcription. Specialities include (but not limited to):
- Acute Care
- Allergy & Immunology
- Clinical Psychology
- Obstetrics & Gynaecology
for both large hospital clients as well as private practice and individual consultants and practitioners.
I am also an experienced transcription quality analyst/proofreader with a dogged-like attention to detail, ensuring accurately formatted, contextually correct transcripts. Accents and difficult recordings I see as a challenge!
The medical terminology course I completed at the start of my career at the Austin Hospital in Melbourne was heavily focused on prefixes, suffixes and the root Latin words and their derivation/meaning. It’s certainly put me in good stead to be able to break down and interpret medical terminology.
I also have general transcription experience specialising in media, educational texts, transcription of historical documents and call recording transcripts for various clients.
My workspace includes a dedicated, secure home office utilising multiple screens, ultrafast FTTP internet (1000/50), licensed audio software, licensed Microsoft Office, Dropbox account. I have multiple current spec PCs and laptops running Windows 10 & 11 to ensure continuity of service.
I have a National Police Check, a Working with Children’s Check (SA) and a Police Security Clearance (WAPOL).
Typing speed: 80-100 wpm.
Personally: True Crime fan, self-confessed medical weirdo, unashamedly geeky!
