I have experienced over 30 years in the transcription industry in medical transcription (orthopaedic, psychiatric and general); legal and court transcription, legal statement interviews; and general transcription, including focus groups, presentation transcripts, copy typing.
I spent 23 years as a medicolegal transcriptionist for a forensic psychiatric practice, transcribing psychiatric reports, both clinical and medico-legal. During that same time I also transcribed orthopaedic medico-legal reports.
I have been a contract transcriptionist for various legal, medical and general larger transcription companies since 2009. That work varied but included PhD interviews, focus groups, insurance MVA reports, and child services investigations, court transcripts and judgements, phone interviews, ATO interviews, coronial inquiries and police ERISP transcripts, medical transcription for a dermatologist and an orthopaedic surgeon, and I prepared draft statements/affidavits for victims of child abuse within juvenile justice, education institutions and foster homes.
